Richmond, March 20, 1787. Acknowledges receipt of a circular letter from Hamilton, James Duane, and William Duer2 concerning proposed alterations in the “Institution” of the Society of the Cincinnati and states that it will be reported to the next meeting of the state society.

1. Bland wrote in his capacity as vice president of the Virginia Society of the Cincinnati.
