6The day preceding the first Friday on which Thomas Barclay and Matthew Ridley (and presumably Mary Barclay) dined with BF. According to Matthew Ridley’s Journal, entry of Dec. 7 (Mass. Hist. Soc.), they met there the “Compte D’Estaing, Compte des deux ponts, Comptesse Forbac, mother of Compte des Ponts, his Comptesse, his Sister, & others.”
