Patrick Gibson
RC (ViU: TJP-ER); at head of text: “Thomas Jefferson Esqre”; endorsed by TJ as a letter from Gibson & Jefferson received 3 Jan. 1814 and so recorded in SJL.
SJL records one letter from TJ to Gibson of 24 Dec. 1813, not two. The second document, not found, was most likely a brief note covering the return of the “stamp” that Gibson had sent for TJ’s signature three days previously.
