The inclosed resolution of the General assembly of Pennsylvania with President Reid’s letter came to hand by yesterday’s post. I now do myself the pleasure of transmitting them to the assembly, and of assuring you that I am with the greatest esteem Your most obedient & most humble servt.,

RC (Vi). Addressed in TJ’s hand. Endorsed: “Governors Letter enclosing Pennsylvania Assembly’s proceedings in ratifying Boundary line. December 11th 1779. Referred to Commee. of whole on State of the Commonwealth.” Enclosure (Vi): Resolution of Pennsylvania General Assembly, 19 Nov. 1779, summarized in note to Joseph Reed’s letter to TJ, 25 Nov. 1779.

The Pennsylvania resolution ratifying the boundary agreed on by the Commissioners at Baltimore, 27–31 Aug. 1779 (see under that date, above) was read in the House on 11 Dec., referred to committee of the whole, and on 23 Dec. deferred to following session (JHD description begins Journal of the House of Delegates of the Commonwealth of Virginia (cited by session and date of publication) description ends , Oct. 1779, 1827 edn., p. 85, 106; see also TJ to Huntington, 9 Feb. 1780).
