This list of Acts of Assembly relating to the colonial church was obviously drawn up before 19 Nov. 1776. See the general Editorial Note at the head of this sequence of documents.

1The ten Acts listed above were passed by the Assembly in its session begun 23 Mch. 1661/2, and will be found in Hening, description begins William W. Hening, The Statutes at Large; Being a Collection of All the Laws of Virginia description ends ii, 44–52, where, however, the numbering of the Acts is not the same as TJ’s.
