I now lay before you copies of the treaties concluded1 with the Delaware and Piankeshaw Indians, for the extinguishment of their title to the lands therein described: and I recommend to the consideration of Congress the making provision by law for carrying them into execution.

On this day, William A. Burwell presented the message and enclosures to the House and Senate. In the House, the papers were referred to the Committee of Ways and Means, while in the Senate they were ordered to lie for consideration (, 5:28; , 3:419; TJ to the Senate and the House of Representatives, 13 Feb. 1805).
