With the varieties of wines and number of bottles written along the left-hand column, and the days of the month noted across the top, this “Depense journaliere du Vin pour le Mois du Fevrier. 1779.” was drawn up to record the wines consumed at Passy each day. Whatever BF’s good intentions for record keeping may have been, the chart was never filled in.
