Memorandum respecting the Militia

[Winchester, 15 May 1756]

May 15th The Council being finis⟨hd⟩ the aforesd Number of Men were ordd to be draughted,1 & the remr to receive provision to carry them back & to be discharg’d.

The said several draughts were orderd to get ready to March in the M[ornin]g to their respective Posts.2

1The Memorandum respecting the Militia, 14 May 1756, gives the number of militiamen from the counties to be stationed at each of the various forts, as do GW’s orders of 15 May 1756.
