P:S: An application has just been made to us on behalf of Mrs Richardson the tenant of Mazzei’s tenemt to purchase that property; stating that it had been offer’d to her by our G:J:—be pleased to inform us1 if you wish it sold

RC (MHi); in Patrick Gibson’s hand; between dateline and salutation: “Thomas Jefferson Esqre”; postscript adjacent to signature; endorsed by TJ as received 23 July 1812 and so recorded in SJL.

TJ’s brief note of the 16th of July to Gibson asked him to send “fifty dollars, by return of post in bills of 10. & 5. Dollars” (PoC in CSmH: JF). g:j: was George Jefferson.

SJL records a missing letter of 24 July 1812 from TJ to Gibson & Jefferson.
