Peter F. Fritez (ca. 1787–1829), printer, worked in that capacity in Philadelphia from around 1810 until at least 1824. He served thereafter as a prison inspector, 1825–27, and as a deputy sheriff, notary public, and justice of the peace. Fritez was also a sergeant in the militia during the War of 1812, a longtime member of the Philadelphia Typographical Society, secretary of the local Democratic-Republican society, 1819–20, and a supporter of Andrew Jackson’s presidential candidacy in 1828.
