Charlottesville Novr 19th 1813—

Lieutenants Fawcett, and Dickonson beg leave to return their kind thanks to Mr Jefferson for the attention shewn them while at Charlottesville; and whould have done themselves the honor of waiting upon him, had time permitted—

RC (MHi); in an unidentified hand; addressed (edge trimmed): “Thomas Jefferson Esq[ue?] Monticello”; endorsed by TJ as received 13 Dec. 1813 and so recorded in SJL.
