From Thomas Jefferson

[Philadelphia] June 3. 1793.

Th: Jefferson has the honour to inclose to the President a letter from the Director of the Mint, containing a general statement of the expenditure of the last monies furnished, & an application of a further sum of 5000. D.1

GW wrote Alexander Hamilton later on this date to “Pay to the Director of the Mint, or his order, five thousand Dollars for the purposes of that Establishment” (LB, DLC:GW).
