Dear Sir

A Letter from Doctr. Franklin calls me to Paris—2 I set off in about five Days—he has doubtless written to You on this Subject. Majr. Franks is on the way to You with Dispatches from me—3 be pleased to direct ^send^ your future Letters for me, under Cover to Doctr Franklin— No Inconveniences will at present be caused by my absence. The Instructions intended for Mr Del Campo are to be sent to the Count De Aranda. I Congratulate You on the Recognition of our Independence by the Dutch— The french has lost a Ship of the Line and they say thirteen Transports bound to the Indies—

I hope my future Letters will be less unfortunate than many of my former ones— Rely upon it that I shall continue to write particularly and frequently to You— With great Regard & Esteem I am Dr Sir Your most obt Servt
