<Nantes, September 10, 1778: M. Montaudoüin4 has learned from Mr. Kergariou, commander of the French frigate Oiseau,5 that the Guernsey and Jersey privateers which infest this bay provision in Bilbao under pretense of being American. I hope this practice can be stopped.>
