En reponse a la note qe le Comte de Floridablanca vient de recevoir de Mr Jay dattée d’hier il aura l’honneur de lui dire qu’il va ecrire a Bilbao au sujet des billets qui sont entre les mains de Mr Joyes et qui doivent etre acceptés: de façon qu’il faut encore attendre quelques jours pour fixer la maison qui ferá telle acceptation.

Pour ce qui regarde les autres billets presentés par dn Carlos Marraci pour la valeur de 1665 grosses piastres le Comte recommande Mr Jay d’exiger pareillement un delais de quince jours pour l’acceptation: Ce temps etant necessaire pourque le dit Comte puisse avoir un entretien avec un Personne qui n’est pas actuellemt a Madrid.

[At the Palace 12 July, 1780]

In Answer to the Note the Ct. de F. B. has just received from Mr Jay dated yesterday1 he has the honor to acquaint him that he intends writing to Bilboa on the subject of the Bills in the hands of Messrs. Joyce & which must are to be accepted, so that it will be necessary to wait some days to fix the house at which the acceptance will be made.

As to the Bills presented by Mr Charles Maraci to the value of 1665 dollars, the Ct recommends to Mr. Jay to request the same ^in like manner a^ delay of 15 days before to determine abt ^for^ the acceptance, this time being necessary that the Count may have an interview with a Person not at present in Madrid.2
