[Fort Mifflin on Mud Island in the Delaware River] November 4–8, 1777. Acknowledges receipt of “His Excellencys order authorizing me to exercise the functions of Engineer at Fort Mifflin.”

Fitzpatrick, Calendar of the Correspondence of George Washington, Commander in Chief of the Continental Army, with the Officers (Washington, 1915). description ends , I, 460, states that H was the recipient of this letter.
