Treasury Department, Register’s Office, May 28, 1794. “I … Enclose the papers you directed me to prepare vizt. An Estimate for an additional Appropriation,1 And A statement of the payments made from the fund of 10.000 Dollars granted by Act of the 26 March 1790 for the Contingent Expences of Government.”2

1This enclosure is entitled “An Estimate of Sums which require to be appropriated in Addition to those provided for during the present Session.” The estimated sum required was $715,610.87. Nourse’s statement was included in H’s “Report on Sums for Which a Further Appropriation Is Requisite,” June 2, 1794.
