From Benjamin Lincoln

Boston, August 17, 1790. States that members of the lighter that unloaded fish illegally from the schooner from Nova Scotia1 “had no idea that they were breaking the law of the United States.” Asks approval for oil contract for lighthouses. States that “the Light Houses at the Gurnet2 are nearly ready to tumble down from the want of repairs.”
