From Elizabeth Hamilton

[New York, October 21, 1796. On October 26, 1796, Hamilton wrote to Elizabeth Hamilton: “I received yours of Friday last.”1 Letter not found.]

1H was in Albany to attend the October session of the New York Supreme Court, which met in that city between October 18 and November 5, 1796. See H to Elizabeth Hamilton, October 25, 26, 1796.

In H’s Cash Book, 1795–1804, under the date of October 11, 1796, H wrote: “Account of Expences Dr to Cash

This sum dld Mrs. Hamilton on going to Albany 100 
This sum on my return November 1 20 
my expences to and from Albany  40 
160”
