On this date TJ had some aspen and mulberry trees planted at Poplar Forest. He also measured the distances from the east and west stairways to their respective mounds and from the north door to the gate (Notes on Poplar Forest Plantings and Geography, 1 Feb. 1811–6 Oct. 1821).
