MS (ViU: TJP); in a clerk’s hand, with dateline and signature written lengthwise by Barnes in left margin; endorsed by TJ: “Barnes John groceries Mar. 09.”

A statement of account from Barnes to TJ, Georgetown, 3 Mar. 1809 (ViU: TJP), charged $152.91 for these goods, a lined keg, and one bushel of clover seed. The tea chest was there described as being “small Japoned.”
