15 January 1813. Proposes for JM’s “approbation the enclosed appointments in the Army of the United States.”1

1The enclosure (1 p.) lists twenty-three regimental appointments from North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and the Missouri Territory. From this list, which JM forwarded to the Senate on 18 Jan., nine appointments were approved the following day and the rest by 18 Feb. (Senate Exec. Proceedings description begins Journal of the Executive Proceedings of the Senate of the United States of America (3 vols.; Washington, 1828). description ends , 2:316–17, 319, 325, 326).
