§ To the House of Representatives

1 May 1810. Transmits a report from the secretary of state in compliance with the House resolution of 30 Apr.

RC and enclosures (DNA: RG 233, President’s Messages). RC 1 p. Enclosures (13 pp.) are Robert Smith’s 1 May report on relations with Great Britain and France and six appendixes containing extracts from diplomatic correspondence. Received, read, and tabled on 1 May. Printed in Annals of Congress description begins Debates and Proceedings in the Congress of the United States ... (42 vols.; Washington, 1834-56). description ends , 11th Cong., 2d sess., 2028–31. On 30 Apr. the House had requested information on French or British responses to American protests over commercial decrees and orders in council (ibid., 2018, 2021).
