Depar⟨tm⟩ent of State, January 29th: 1807.

Sir.

With your letter of the 27th. inst: I have received the cypher for secret correspondence, of which you were requested to make a copy for your own use.

I have directed a packet addressed to Mr. Maurice Rogers to be sent to you and I beg the favor of your causing it to be forwarded to him on your arrival at Cuba. I am &c.
