7. So dated on the assumption the “American Tea Act” to which Strahan refers was not the minor statute of 1772 but the famous one, 13 Geo. III, c. 44, which became law on May 10, 1773; Strahan, according to custom, printed it as a separate pamphlet. The tenth volume of Statutes at Large, to which he also refers, had been published more than two years earlier: London Chron., March 19–21, 1771.
