Sir,

It appears proper that a notification to the distillers and importers of distilled spirits be published in the Gazettes, containing information of the Office of inspection in which they are (in the three first days of July) to make entry of the spirits by them respectively distilled or imported, which shall be on hand on the 1st day of July next.1

1This was a requirement of Section 25 of “An Act repealing, after the last day of June next, the duties heretofore laid upon Distilled Spirits imported from abroad, and laying others in their stead; and also upon Spirits distilled within the United States, and for appropriating the same” (1 Stat. description begins The Public Statutes at Large of the United States of America (Boston, 1845). description ends 205 [March 3, 1791]).
