I take the Liberty to enclose to you a Note of two Books2 of which I am to request that you will cause three compleat Setts to be purchased on the public Account and sent to me by three different Conveyances. I am very respectfully Sir your most Obedient & humble Servant

2. The enclosure (University of Pa. Library) lists the two books as “L’histoire des Finances par Monsr. De Forbonnois” and “Traite des Imposetions dans les differens Etats de l’Europe redigé par Monsr. Baumont, imprimé a l’Imprimerie royal.” The former is François Véron Duverger de Forbonnais, Recherches et considérations sur les finances de France, depuis l’année 1595 jusqu’à l’année 1721 (2 vols., Basle, 1758, or 6 vols., Liege, 1758), the latter, Jean-Louis Moreau de Beaumont, Mémoires concernant les impositions et droits en Europe (4 vols., Paris, 1768–69).
