MS (DLC: TJ Papers, 194:34558–9); written entirely in TJ’s hand on rectos of separate sheets for debits and credits, with overall totals for principal and interest for both credits and debits added by him in pencil; edge trimmed; undated.

At his 5 Nov. 1812 settlement of this account with Peyton, TJ noted that they had agreed to reduce Peyton’s debits to a total of $1415.10, with interest lowered to $469.88. The credits due to Peyton remained unchanged (MB description begins James A. Bear Jr. and Lucia C. Stanton, eds., Jefferson’s Memorandum Books: Accounts, with Legal Records and Miscellany, 1767–1826, 1997, The Papers of Thomas Jefferson, Second Series description ends , 2:1284). bran: Joseph Brand.
