From Alexander Hamilton to Philip Schuyler, 24 January 1792

[Philadelphia, January 24, 1792. On January 29, 1792, Schuyler wrote to Hamilton: “Your favor of the 24th instant I received yesterday.” Letter not found.

1Schuyler, who was H’s father-in-law, had been elected to the short term as United States Senator from New York in 1789 and was defeated for re-election by Aaron Burr in 1791. He was then elected to the fifteenth New York Senate, which met in New York City on January 5, 1792.
