I have the honor to propose William L. Brent of Maryland, and Charles M. Taylor of Pensylvania for 2d. Lieuts. of Artillerists—and Jonathan Eastman of Vermont and Neal Duffee of New York for Ensigns in the 1st. Regt. of Infantry.

Accept Sir, the assurances &c.—

William L. brent, Charles M. taylor, Jonathan eastman, and Neal duffee would all be included on the list of nominations and promotions TJ sent to the Senate on 18 Nov. 1803 (JEP description begins Journal of the Executive Proceedings of the Senate of the United States … to the Termination of the Nineteenth Congress, Washington, D.C., 1828, 3 vols. description ends , 1:457).
