Treasury Department, Revenue Office, January 27, 1794. “I have the honor to communicate to you the result of the enquiry into ‘the expediency of erecting a light House on Occacock Island or elsewhere near the entrance of Occacock inlet; and an estimate of the probable expence.’…”1
