Rockland—1/2 a mile from Dobbs ferry Augt 24. (Thursday) 1780


I reached this place last evening—the men much fatigued—great difficulty in procuring provisions—I Know not where the magazines are established.

I shall attend to the several objects of your Excellencys orders. which I recd by Capt. Lawrence—I have the Honour to be with due respect Your Excellencys most obedt & most Hble Servt

I take it for granted that Capt. Lawrence’s Compy is now to join the Regiment.
