George Washington Papers

From James McHenry to Stephen Moylan, 5 July 1780

Hd Qrs 5th July 1780

Dr Sir

I communicated your answer to his Excellency. He thinks the little falls too near the enemy and leaves it to you to take a position within the fork of the river, or on this side—or on the left of the army as you may find it most convenient to the objects which he recommended. You will be pleased to advise this General as soon as you have determined on [a] position. I am Dr &c.
