having the Misfortune the last Sumer’s Campaign of ruining my constitution which renders me unable of Serving in the field—and the unhappy State of my family being Viseted with Sickness and death and expecting hourly to hear of an Irreparable loss as my Family at this time is in a Mellancolly Situation by reason of sickness—is the only reason of my troubling your Excellence at this time for a Discharge from the Service your Excellencies approbation will grately contribute to my afflicted family—I am with the gratest respect your Excellencies most obedt Very Humbe Servt
