Garrison West Point June 27th 1780


being satisfied that the situation of Capn Ellis’s family is such, that his remaining longer in the service must render him & his family (which is large) very unhappy, I am induced to consent to his being discharg’d, if your Excellency should please to do it. I am with all possible respect your Excellencies most obedient & very Humble Servant
