Trenton June 26th 1780


I am to inform Your Excellency that the Philada Troop of Light Horse consisting of Thirty-Eight are this far advanced by order of His Excellency President Reed, in consequence of the late alarm given by the Enemys movements is this State.

On my way to your head Quarters I shall proceed by way of Pluckimin and Morris town, In the meantime according to my orders I have dispatched a Sergeant of the Troop with this previous information, to whom you will please to signify your pleasure by which I shall be intirely governed, and have the honor to be with greatest Rispect Your Excellencys Obedt hum.
