twelve oclock June 19th 1780
I have Been hear near a week with the army and in that time made three attempts to See you. twice I have Been Over without Liberty from this Side and with Liberty as I Desoired Mr Bunnel to tell you if I Cannot See you By Some Means or Other that we may fix Some matters that Cannot Be trusted any Other way I Shall Be Oblidged to go home to new york and Shall not Be able to Do that for you that I Could wish to Do which I Could Easely fix Could I See you as I am fulley Satisfied that Mr Bunnel mite Be trusted and I Could See him Every Evening at Nine Oclock without any much [ ] and Return as Soon as any of My Comrads get to Quarters as I am in the Gides and Can Know almost anything that is on foot if A Communication Could Be Opened that way and if you approove of it.
As to the moovements of the army no One Can at preasent tell any thing of the Armys Intention admiral arberthnot was hear Day Before yesterday and held a Conferrance with Genl Niphousen and Sir henry is to Be hear this Day at two Oclock and to Revew the whole Line which Are to Be perraded at that time I am told By Mr Bole who is this minute from the Island that the forty second Ridgmt and the Queens Rangers are Landed at the Island this morning I suppose that Something will Be Done as soon as Sir he C: and Niphousen Consults togeather I have Sent his to proceure a pass go out to woodrufs farm for the purpose of Convaying this and Shall my Self try to See Bunnel In the Evening if any thing should[ ].
Sir the forty second Seventy first and Queens rangers are now Between hear and Mr Bankers Sir H— C— Quarters is to Be at Mr Bankers and General Leslies at Mr Bonells.
