West-point June 17th 1780


Circumstances of a Domestic nature, make it necessary for me, to retire from the immediate service of my country; I have enclosed my Commission with the certificates agreeable to; General orders, And should esteem it a favour, your Excellency would please to grant me a Discharge. I have the honor to be, with perfect, respect, Your Excellency’s Most obedient Servant
