Dear Genl

The inclosed are Capt. Bancrofts Reasons for leaving the Service, With the Proper Certificates, he is of my Regiment, a Good Officer, and I verily believe he Would not have attempted to leave the Service if his helth had ben Good, and the Circumstances of his family Could have spared him from home—The Smallness of my Regiment at this Time makes me Comply With his leaving the Service I am With the Greatest Esteme Your Excellencys most Obdt Humbl.
