Dear General

I was the last evening honored with yours of the 22nd. My own Sentiments with those of Major General Howe and Brigadier General Paterson on the points you are pleased to mention were given yesterday, and I presume have reached your hand. I have written the Contractors respecting the Provisions conformably to your pleasure Signified in your Letter, and have ordered such of the provisions as are nauseous, and unfit for any kind of use to be buried tomorrow. I have the honor to be with the greatest respect your Excellencys most obedient servt
