May it please Your Excellency

The unhappy Situation of my Family at Home, in consequence of the Death of my Father and Mother, whose Affairs are left to circumstances as to require my immediate attendance, puts me under the disagreeable necessity of soliciting Your Excellency for Discharge from the Army, Which will lay an obligation of Gratitude upon Your Excellency’s Obedt Devoted Servant
