Head Quarters Morris Town 15th April 1780

Dear Sir

Colo. Dayton has reason to expect some persons shortly from New York, from whom, if they are permitted to land, he may gain material intelligence—His Excellency therefore desires you to give directions to the Officer commanding at Elizabeth town to suffer such persons to come on shore from the Flag Boat, as Colo.
