Camp April 13th 1780


The Bearer hereof Cap: Broadrick of my Regiment having a Numerous & helpless Family that require his Attention, and Assistance, is Obliged, though Contrary to his inclination, to leave the Service, and Begs your Excellency will please to Accept of his resignation he is not in debt to the States, but I believe on the Contrary. I have the Honor to be with profound Esteem your Excellency’s Most Obedient Hble Servant
