George Washington Papers

From George Washington to Nathanael Greene, 12 April 1780

Head Quarters 12th April 1780.

Dear Sir,

I have received your favour on the subject of Colonel Gunby’s demand of a Waggon, on Account of his commanding a Brigade for the present. I cannot by any means think it necessary that he should be supplied with one from this circumstance, therefore wish you in this as well as in all future similar cases to refuse complying with the request. I am, &c.

G. Washington
