May It Please Your Excellency

Being solicited by Lieut. Fenton for a Recommendation to your Excellency, for his Resignation from the Army, it is with the graitest reluctance that I comply with such a Request from so worthy an Officer and One who ever hath done honour to the profession of a Soldier, present Reducd state of the Regiment by the frequent discharges hath at length induced me to Comply with his Request. I am with the greatest Respect your Excellencys most Obediant Humble Servant
