To George Washington from Pierre Regnier de Roussi, 29 March 1780

Morris Town March 29th 1780

May it please your Excellency

As my health, and other Circumstances does not permit me to Continue in the army of the United states any longer; I beg your Excellency would be pleased to grant me a Discharge from the said; and if you would be so kind as to add to the many favours already heaped upon me, a Certificate of the time I have served in said army, as Lieut. Colonel, which is from January the 12th 1776 I Shall ever be Indebted for the Same—I am with the Greatest Respect of Your Excellency the Most Obedient servant

N.B. The within Inclosed papers are the several Certificates, your Excellency Required on Genl Orders of the 25th of December.
