From Tench Tilghman to Henry Knox, 16 March 1780

Head Quarters 16th March 1780

Dear Sir

Colo. Brodhead has requested a few Artillery Men to be sent to Fort pitt. His Excellency thinks this proper as an addition is lately made to the Ordnance and Stores in that department—An Officer and twenty Men at most will be sufficient. His Excellency leaves it with you to detach them from the Corps most convenient. I am Dear Sir with Respect Yrs

T. Tilghman

I hope Mrs Knox and the young Ladies are well after their dancing.
