James Morgan, Sr. (1734–1784), of Perth Amboy was a captain in the 2d Regiment of Middlesex County, N.J., militia.
1. Shoal Harbor, also known as Port Monmouth, was located on the shore of Sandy Hook Bay a few miles north of Middletown, New Jersey. British ships were gathering there to embark Gen. Henry Clinton’s army.
