General Orders

Head-Quarters, Middle-Brook, June 18th 1777.

Parole: Boundbrook.Countersigns: Bedford.

Timothy Pickering Esqr: is appointed Adjutant General to the Continental Army—He is to be obeyed and respected as such.1 The General begs Col. Connor to accept his thanks, for his obliging and punctual discharge of the office, for the time he has acted as such.
