To the New York Convention

Morristown, 20 March 1777. “I am this day favoured with your letter of 16th inst. enclosing the examination of sundry persons lately in New-York, for which I am much obliged to you; as every intelligence of this kind, serves to cast light upon the true situation of affairs.”

Congress Journals description begins Journals of the Provincial Congress, Provincial Convention, Committee of Safety, and Council of Safety of the State of New-York, 1775–1776–1777. 2 vols. Albany, 1842. (Microfilm Collection of Early State Records). description ends , 2:397–98; LS (fragment), N: New York Provincial Congress Revolutionary Papers. The LS was badly burned in the fire that destroyed the New York State Library in Albany in 1911.
